Meet our experienced physical therapists
Dr. Delali Goka, PT, DPT, was born in Accra, Ghana. At the age of four, she and her family immigrated to New York City from Liberia. Her family eventually settled in White Plains, New York.
Delali has been a licensed physical therapist since 2004. She developed her skills at Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockland County, an affiliate of New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Presently, along with being owner of Steps To A Healthier You, Delali is Therapy Supervisor at The Stamford Hospital, Stamford Connecticut, leading all Acute Care and Van Munching Unit Rehabilitation Services (PT,OT,ST).
Delali also serves as a clinical lab instructor and occasional guest lecturer for Mercy College Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Her clinical experience includes practice in aquatic therapy, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation, acute care, and private home physical therapy.
Delali earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2004. Delali returned to Northeastern University where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009.

Professional Organizations and Activities
Delali is a cardiopulmonary and geriatric section member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She also participates in APTA’s Hudson Valley district chapter events. A person of many interests and intensely passionate about her profession, Delali has remained an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 10+ years.
Delali believes in healthy communities. She has written wellness and health articles for several websites and magazines. Her love for the community, the empowerment of others, and life itself have led her in many pursuits, including the development of Steps To A Healthier You Physical Therapy, LLC
Dr. Gale Lavinder, PT, EdD received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 1982. Her physical therapy career began in a teaching hospital where she gained both acute care and outpatient experience. She was supervisor on an in-patient rehabilitation unit for 6 years before returning to graduate school. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Motor Learning at Teachers College, Columbia University (1994) and Doctor of Education in Adult Higher Education (2007).
Gale has over 25 years of experience in a variety of settings, including pediatrics, acute care, sub-acute care, and home health. Her clinical areas of interest are adult neurology and pediatrics. She has been on faculty at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Mercy College.
She is currently Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education in the Physical Therapy program at New York Medical College. In addition to this role, she teaches Clinical Decision Making for the Complex Medical Patient. Her research interests have been focused on Constraint Induced Therapy with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy, and more recently in the area of Spirituality and Physical Therapy.
Her professional memberships include The American Physical Therapy Association and she is certified in CPR/First Aid.
Personally, She resides in Rockland County with her family.
Dr. Jennifer (Zaleskie) Cole, PT, DPT, MHA, is a native New Yorker. She grew up on Long Island and currently resides in White Plains. Jennifer has been practicing the art of physical therapy since 2008. She has had experience working at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, MA, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU, and currently works at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY. As a Senior Physical Therapist at Burke, Jennifer has experience working with various patient populations including but not limited to individuals with amputations, brain injury, cancer, cardiac disease, neurologic conditions, orthopedic conditions, pulmonary disease, and spinal cord injury. Jennifer also has experience working with patients in subacute facilities as well as in the homecare setting.
Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree in Health and Science Studies from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She went on to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy also from Quinnipiac University. Jennifer also pursued a Master’s in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.

Professional Organization and Activities
Jennifer is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and in the New York Chapter of the APTA. (NYPTA) She serves as the Vice Chair for the Hudson Valley district of the New York Physical Therapy Association as well as the Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the NYPTA. She also continues to serve as a Delegate to the national House of Delegates of the APTA.
Jennifer is involved in various research studies to further the physical therapy profession. She has had the opportunity to volunteer overseas to provide physical therapy to those in underserved areas.
Dr. Genelle M Garcia PT, DPT, CWS, is a native New Yorker who grew up in Long Island, lived in New York City and now resides in Norwalk, CT. Graduated from Sacred Heart University with a undergraduate degree in exercise science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Genelle is a Physical Therapist and Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) with an avid passion in wound management who has been practicing since 2009. She has experience in the acute care setting, inpatient rehabilitation setting and skilled nursing facility. She has served as a staff and senior Physical Therapist at Northshore University Hospital, Louisiana University Health and Sciences Center, Mount Sinai Hospital and Stamford Hospital. Her expertise has also been further enhanced by her completion of the country’s first and only wound management residency program at Louisiana State University. The exposure to a variety of different patient settings and diverse etiologies has helped to guide her in the development of her critical and analytical thinking skills. With her residency experience and current rehab knowledge she has been working to extensively construct and perfect her physical therapy and wound care skills.
Genelle enjoys challenging and progressive patient populations that utilize her physical therapy, wound management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
